Unitarian Universalist Association seeks to build the world without any barriers

Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA) is a group of organizations that are affiliated to Unitarians Universalist (UU) religious groups based in the United States.

UUA has over a thousand members who are brought together by principles and beliefs that guide their activities. The groups follow a universal seven principles which include;

They believe that every life matters just like Lacey and Larkin Frontera Fund formed by Michael and Jim to support lives of immigrants advocate for fairness and love.

Everybody has a right to choose what to believe

UUA members ensure that all of these principles are incorporated into their communal activities. They depict every aspect of the principles in their ways of worship, how each person sources for information and strive to improve oneself, how they celebrate transitions in life, their quest for social rights and fairness among much more.

There was a group formed back in 1793 called the Universalist, joined hands with the Unitarians (formed in 1825) in 1961 to form UUA. They both had shared values and originated in North America.

UUA’s beliefs

The group doesn’t have any shared creed, but just binding seven principles we mentioned earlier. This has attracted many people who are searching for freedom and seeking answers to their questions.

Though the group brings together different people regardless of their religion, they depict similar characteristics;

They believe in existence of a supreme being

Believe in life and death

They inspire and guide each other

They have spiritual practices including praying

They believe in sacred writing such as bibles

UUA’s organizational structure

The head of UUA is called the president who is elected and supported by the moderator and board. All of the leaders are elected after some time during Annual General Meetings. Learn more about Michael Lacey and Jim Larkin: and

The president is also the spokesperson for the group and executive leader. The moderators help the president in chairing business meetings and heading meetings of Board of Trustees.

Besides this, other boards, advisors, and committees also help in steering the UUA group ahead.

What they do

The group advocates for individual change to change their environment. The group exercises their faith each day of the week through;

Worshipping and offering inspirations every Sunday morning and each other day

They volunteer to help in advancing work especially in fighting for justice

Connecting families and outreach services

They celebrate weddings, funerals/memorials, new born babies, the aged and dedicated children.

Larkin & Lacey Frontera Fund

The group aims at bringing together and supporting all groups that advocate for immigrants in America. It was founded by Michael and Jim; both were reporters and founders of Phoenix New Time.

The two dedicated a settlement amount of $3.75 million accrued from their arrest by Sheriff. Their arrest came as a result of divulging information about a matter that was in court concerning the Sheriff.
